La Katz through the eyes of the Russian-born, Vienna-based artist Daria Marshenko. The one-of-a-kind pictures are created using film photography and old digital cameras from the turn of the century. Marshenko moved to Vienna 4 years ago. Because of her cultural background, in which so many topics are a taboo, the contrast of a liberated mentality deeply impacted her. Her work emphasizes a world full of contrasts, which in their plurality result in an aesthetic whole. Nostalgic, yet in the raw. Her gaze is vulnerable, rough and yet sensual at the same time.
